I had 2 different dreams last night. the first dream was involving family members and some random people I've never met. I forget specifics in the beginning but at one point, something happens and my dad and I start clashing and that goes on for a very long time. I think from what I remember my dad wanted me to do something or he said something that set me off. What my responses were felt real in a sense. I started unloading all emotions that I've felt and bottled since I was a child. He at a point was very combative with me releasing emotions and that he wanted me to leave the house. Also, my parents are divorced and the house in the dream was not the house I grew up in. After he tells me to get out of the house, I pretty much snapped even more and harder at him and putting him in his place in front of everyone. I was unloading all the feelings and thoughts I've kept inside since as a child. Then At one point, my grandmother who has passed away for 10 years shows up in my dream and tries to speak to me and calm me down. I snapped at her as well trying to explain what my feelings are all about and telling her all of the nonsense I had to deal with that she never knew about. Then at one point towards the end of the dream, my wrestling coach appears out of nowhere to try and speak to me. During that time, I did start calming down while he was speaking to me and trying to get a level head back. The second dream began after and it was chaotic. I was hanging with my buddy and we were going to some business. I don't believe the business exists. It's like a bootleg best buy/electronic store. It's non-existent. I was there on an off day from work however I ended up doing my work routine while I was there. After some time, there was a loud sound that everyone heard. My buddy and I looked at each other and we realized what sound it was we heard. They were explosions. Him and I started running quickly out of the store and just kept going straight as fast as we can. We weren't in a panic but we were steadfast and focused to get to safety. Eventually we got further away from the building and we saw missiles being dropped from a distance. The store we were at exploded in the meantime and we watched it happen. We then kept getting further away from what was happening. Many people were panic running and we were still focused and steadfast. We eventually got to a car and got inside and started driving. We were driving while there was a lot of chaos going on. We still kept hearing explosions behind us while we were driving away. Eventually, we met some girl and she started traveling with us. Then at one point, we stopped at some candy store or candy factory. In the dream I mentioned that this seems like a place I was supposed to visit for work and I never did. We go there and we tried to warn them about what happened. I was wearing my lanyard for work and they thought I was soliciting. Instead of hearing what I was telling them, they told me to leave. Then as they told me to leave, the explosions started happening again. as the explosions were happening, I looked over to the owner of the business and said are you happy now? you didn't listen to me and you're about to be caught in this. so me and my buddy and the other person we got back at the car and we left. we can see the missiles being shot in random places and blowing up places and buildings. and then at one point we ended up getting to some building I have no idea what it was. my buddy and I were walking through the building and then at one point I got on the phone with my mom and we had a little conference call for some reason with some cousins of mine or my sister and cousins I forget. and then I was telling them what was going on and after I finish telling them the explosion started again and they heard the explosions from the phone and they started panicking. then I hung up the phone and then my buddy and I started running or trying to get out of that area. and in real life the buddy that I'm with in the dream, in real life he's a police officer. at one point we get outside of the building and he grabs his shotgun and he puts on his police uniform and we started going into other places to try to get out of open areas. there was a vent and some building outside or something I forget what it was but he kicked the vent in and then him and I went through the vent and that we ended up in a underground utility area. and then we are going through the utility area and trying to figure out where to go next as we're going through and eventually we get out, I think we get outside and then we're seeing more missiles from the sky just getting shot down into the areas further away from where we are. so we're able to see what's going on from a far distance. and then at one point that's what I woke up.
Dreams can often be a reflection of our subconscious mind, highlighting unresolved emotions, concerns, or aspirations. Your two dreams seem to contain deep emotional elements and scenarios that could relate to your real-life experiences and feelings. Here's an interpretation of each dream:
Family Dynamics: Your clash with your father signifies possible underlying issues or unresolved conflicts. Since the setting wasn't your childhood home, it may represent feelings or issues that have continued to evolve as you grow older. This dream seems to echo feelings of needing to be heard and understood by those closest to you, especially your father. The clash could suggest pent-up emotions or frustrations you've been carrying since childhood, representing a desire for reconciliation or a different family dynamic.
Emotional Catharsis: Unloading emotions indicates a significant emotional release, perhaps reflecting real-life stress or a desire to communicate things you've kept inside. This could be an internal desire to be acknowledged and understood by family members.
Presence of Passed Loved Ones: Your grandmother's appearance symbolizes comfort and guidance but also highlights unresolved feelings you might have about her knowledge (or lack thereof) of your life struggles. The fact you snapped at her suggests distress or feelings of abandonment when you reflect back on that support system.
Wrestling Coach’s Role: The intervention by your wrestling coach points to mentors or figures in your life who help ground you or provide emotional stability. It may reflect a need for external guidance or validation, reinforcing the importance of having trustworthy allies during emotionally intensive times.
The Business Setting: The peculiar, non-existent business may symbolize a sense of uncertainty or unfamiliarity in your professional or personal life. That you revert to your work routine might indicate a desire for order within chaos, or it could even suggest burnout or stress related to work spilling into your personal experiences.
Explosions and Rushing: The chaos and explosions reflect a possible feeling of being overwhelmed by pressure, stress, or significant change. Running away with focus and composure, along with your buddy, indicates resilience and the capacity to handle stressful situations, drawing especially on trusted relationships.
Candy Store Encounter: Attempting to warn, yet not being listened to, echoes themes of being misunderstood or ignored. This might indicate a feeling of not being taken seriously or struggles with communication in waking life.
Phone Call with Family: Sharing your experiences with your family could suggest a yearning for connection, support, or reassurance in times of chaos or distress. Their subsequent panic reflects possible anxiety about sharing burdens with others or revealing vulnerabilities.
Buddy as a Protector: Given your buddy is a police officer in real life, his role in your dream as a protector with a shotgun symbolizes reliance on strength and authority under pressure. The uniform and shotgun could represent the tools or mechanisms you use to guard against or confront conflict.
Navigating and Surviving: The journey through vents and utility areas reflects a tactical and considered approach to escaping or managing conflict. This may symbolize a subconscious strategy to navigate through life's challenges, utilizing resourcefulness and strategic thinking.
Overall, your dreams might be expressions of internal conflicts, highlighting past experiences with family emotions and the desire to handle chaos efficiently in your life. Consider exploring these feelings in more depth, possibly with journaling or through conversations with close family members or friends. It may also help to assess the source of unrest or anxiety reflected among these dream symbols and narratives.
